Everton transfer news as UEFA compensation set for Isaac Price move to Standard Liege
Everton youngster Isaac Price is set to join Standard Liege in a summer switch in search of first-team football, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
The Toffees will receive a compensation amount for the player, set by UEFA, due to his age as he is not able to avail of a free transfer like other more senior players can.
Price was admired by Frank Lampard, making three substitute appearances during his reign, against Boreham Wood, Arsenal and Brighton.

The situation was explained in the article by Joe Thomas and Chris Beesley for the Echo.
“Not 20 until September 26, because Price is under the age of 23, he will not be allowed to depart Goodison Park on a Bosman-style free transfer and Everton are entitled to £400,000 in UEFA compensation,” they said.
“Other Blues players whose current contracts expire this summer include captain Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina, Tom Davies, Andros Townsend, Asmir Begovic, Andy Lonergan and Abdoulaye Doucoure although the club are understood to have an option on the latter’s deal.”

Changing situation
Price’s departure will have been assessed by Sean Dyche, but given that he is very much on the fringes of the squad, it is not one that will have too much of an impact on the plans for next season.
Given the uncertainty over what division the club will be playing in next season, there is an understandable lack of focus on upcoming transfers as everything is geared toward the here-and-now of retaining the club’s Premier League status.
The fee received from the Belgian club for the transfer of the Northern Ireland international will go toward the much-needed rebuild of the squad in the close season, as Dyche aims to restore a sense of balance to the group of players to make amends for the mistakes of recent years.
That is work that will take a few transfer windows to fix but it starts now, Everton cannot get it wrong again.
