Everton loanee Niels Nkounkou sends Alex Iwobi three-word message after 1-1 draw v Wolves

Everton loanee Niels Nkounkou has sent a message to Alex Iwobi following the club’s 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday (20 May).

Iwobi played the entire 90 minutes as the Toffees secured a huge point in the stalemate at Molineux.

Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan opened the scoring in the 34th minute, with Yerry Mina netting a 99th-minute equaliser for the Toffees.

After the draw, Nkounkou, who is on loan from Everton at Ligue 2 club Saint-Etienne and has been linked with a permanent exit, sent Iwobi words of encouragement.

“One last push!” Iwobi wrote on Instagram.

Nkounkou replied: “Come on bro.”

Everton

Massive point

It remains to be seen just how important the point will be as the season rapidly draws to a close, but given how close things currently stand, it could potentially be the difference between Everton staying in the Premier League and dropping down to the Championship.

Sean Dyche will have been looking to have taken all three points from the clash with Wolves, but he will certainly settle for one, particularly having been 1-0 down.

It was not a top-class performance from the Toffees, but it was a determined one, determination that has not been seen enough this season.

Their lack of fight and hunger has led to this worrying position, but Dyche will be taking any point he can get at this stage, with those characteristics able to be worked on this summer if the Toffees stay up.

The Merseyside outfit will definitely be keeping an eye on the results of their relegation rivals, but all focus should now be on the final league clash against Bournemouth.
