Everton again quote huge asking price for Jarrad Branthwaite

Everton have once again reportedly quoted a “huge” asking price for defender Jarrad Branthwaite to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

According to ED [26 May], PSV want to sign the centre-back permanently after his loan spell ends but the Toffees aren’t willing to budge.

The transfer now seems highly unlikely as there appears to be a significant difference in the valuations of the two clubs.

Good decision

Every player has his price and it makes sense for the Toffees to not change their valuation just because PSV are unwilling to meet it.

Branthwaite is a quality defender who could improve under Sean Dyche and the Toffees boss may want to keep him at the club.

He’s still 20 and has already done well in a few first-team games for Everton so there’s hope he could be a regular in the coming years.

Given his age and potential, there will be more clubs keen if he does decide to leave and the club can’t convince him to stay.

PSV have tried in the past but have failed to get Everton to reduce their valuation for the English defender.

He was even linked with a move to Liverpool not too long ago so interest is unlikely to cool in the 20-year-old centre-back.
