Neal Maupay not in Everton plans as Ligue 1 interest emerges
Neal Maupay no longer fits into the long-term plans at Everton as interest emerges in the French striker, according to Foot365 journalist, Ignazio Genuardi.
The Daily Mail reported on 29 May that Everton are interested in replacing the 26-year-old with Almeria striker El Bilal Toure.
French journalist, Genuardi, now reports (via Twitter, 1 June) that interest has emerged from Maupay’s home country, with an exit from Goodison Park looking more and more likely.

Thank god
Maupay’s move to Goodison Park has to go down as one of the worst pieces of business in the club’s recent history – and there’s a long list.
He wasn’t a proven goalscorer, everybody knew this. He is a hard worker and a nuisance, but that’s about it. Everton need a lot more. Someone who is going to hit the back of the net on a regular basis. For too long, a lack of goals has impacted the Merseysiders.

Even under Sean Dyche, hitting the back of the net was a thankless task. It’s where games are won and it’s essential for the board to land a prolific forward this summer. They’re hard to come by, so a significant transfer outlay will be required.
Kevin Thellwell and the board have to land the right player. They can’t risk another Maupay coming through the door at Goodison Park.
The quicker they can shift forward on, the better for everyone involved. Less said about the signing of the former Brentford and Brighton striker, the better. One to forget.
