Everton and Newcastle in transfer battle for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres
Everton and Newcastle are reportedly in pursuit of Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres with Leeds United, West Ham and Crystal Palace keen as well.
According to the Record [03 June, page 12], he also tops the wishlist of Portuguese club Sporting CP in the summer transfer window.
It’s understood that a fee of £11.2million will be enough for the Championship outfit to cash in on him in the coming weeks.

Makes sense
Newcastle already have an array of talented attackers and the 24-year-old will be a bit-part player in their system at St James’ Park.
They signed Anthony Gordon too for big money and he struggles to get game time there so the same thing can happen with the Swedish striker.
Gyokeres is on the back of an unbelievable campaign in the Championship where he’s registered 21 goals and provided 10 assists.

Predominantly a number nine, he has been deployed on either flank as well and seems destined to move to the Premier League.
Everton are desperate for a proven goal scorer and we’ll be surprised if Sean Dyche turns down the opportunity to sign the Swede.
They do have Udinese’s Beto on their list too and appear to have gotten the green signal to sign him, but it remains to be seen if they prioritise him over Gyokeres.
