Everton can meet demands as Beto transfer news emerges

Everton are ready to invest in Udinese striker Beto and could meet the financial demands of the Italian club, according to Il Messaggero Veneto.

Sky Sports reported (30 May) that the Toffees remain interested in a move for the 25-year-old, who is valued at £30million.

After scoring 10 goals in the Serie A this season, Udinese President Giampaolo Pozzo recently revealed that it was going to be hard for the Italian club to keep hold of Beto this summer.

Everton have gone down the line of pumping cash into players who aren’t experienced in the Premier League, and this seems another risky move considering the £30million price tag.

Yes, Dyche is in dire need of attacking personnel this summer, and yes, Beto has proven he can score bundles of goals when at his free-flowing best, however, the Premier League is a different beast.

Looking across other Premier League sides, such as West Ham with Gianluca Scamacca and Southampton with Kamaldeen Sulemana, moving to English football can often be a baptism of fire for attackers.

The Toffees aren’t likely to be spending freely this summer, with the reported investment from MSP Sports Capital mainly for the Bramley-Moore Dock and not for transfers.

If Dyche is awarded a limited transfer purse, blowing it on an unproven forward could be a huge risk.

Everton need to make moves this summer, but they must not be dragged into spending their money recklessly.
