MSP lawyers want clarity as Everton-Farhad Moshiri news emerges this week
Any investment into Everton is reportedly more complicated now that controversial news surrounding Farhad Moshiri has emerged this week.
On 31 May, the Guardian revealed that Moshiri could lose total control of the club without being paid a penny and that a government agency now views him as a “Person of Interest”.
According to Daily Mail and Daily Mirror’s Paul Brown, MSP Sports Capital’s lawyers will want clarity on the situation before going ahead with the investment.

He told Give Me Sport, “MSP remain the favourites to buy into Everton. The original deal on the table was a £105m buy-in for 25% of the club and two seats on the board.
“There’s been a slight complication with the news this week that the UK Government are investigating Moshiri as an associate of sanctioned individual Alisher Usmanov.
“I think that’s cause for concern with MSP, and their lawyers will want that situation cleared up as soon as possible.”
Sort it out
Moshiri’s ties with Alisher Usmanov were always going to be fatal in the future and perhaps this is the start of things.
If he’s going to be investigated by the UK government, the chances of any future investment may be put on hold as long as he’s the owner.
If someone buys out his stake then he’s no longer associated with the club and that will not impact Everton going forward.

Still, there seem to be a lot of areas that need sorting out even after relegation has been avoided for the second season in a row.
Sean Dyche will be hoping that this doesn’t affect the transfer window this summer as he’s already been let down by the board in January.
Hopefully, this gets sorted out quickly and then Everton know how they’re expected to plan for the coming months.
