Everton want Viktor Gyokeres as Sporting Lisbon complications emerge
Everton and a number of Premier League clubs have complicated Sporting Lisbon’s move for Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to A Bola.
According to the Record (3 June, page 12) £11.2million, could be enough to tempt the Sky Blues into selling their talisman.
Sporting Lisbon are believed to have been in contact with the striker. However, according to A Bola on Saturday 10 June, interest from a number of Premier League and Championship clubs has complicated the Primeira Liga side’s move.

All out
The attraction of Premier League football could be too much for Gyokeres to turn down. If he does remain in England, this is a move the Toffees should be all over. He’s scored goals for fun in the second tier and is certainly deserving of the chance to ply his trade in the top flight.
Everton need to go down a new route when it comes to their transfer business and getting a deal over the line for the 25-year-old would be extremely astute.

Everything seems to have gone relatively quiet on the transfer front for the Toffees. Boardroom wranglings still need to be resolved, with fresh investment still on the cards.
The longer the decision-makers wait, the greater the impact it will have on Everton’s 2022/23 Premier League season.
There has to be a change of tact when it comes to the transfer market. Targeting younger players who can be developed and sold on for profit has to be the route to go down. Gyokeres certainly fits the bills.
