Chelsea could make Dominic Calvert-Lewin Everton bid – Journalist
Former Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones has predicted Chelsea to make a bid for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin during the summer transfer window.
The Telegraph reported in 2022 (June 7) that Everton wouldn’t entertain an offer lower than £50million for the 26-year-old striker.
Talking to GIVEMESPORT (10 June), Jones believes that Chelsea could explore a move for the England international at some point.

“If we consider some of the people that Chelsea have been linked with before like Ivan Toney, they’ve been linked to Mitrovic. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were linked with somebody like Calvert Lewin at some point soon,” said Jones.
“If they do want to go down a different route and find somebody that has calibre in this division and doesn’t have adaptation times, then there are options there for them to go and explore and test the water with offers.”

It’s getting to a point with Calvert-Lewin where the board should entertain a big money offer. His injury issues are getting beyond a joke now. It’s not practical to have a player who can only play half a season.
Yes, on his day, he’s an excellent Premier League forward – but we don’t see it anywhere near enough. If he could put a consistent run of performances together, things could be different.

If Chelsea came in with a £40m offer, the board would be mad to say no. That money could be invested elsewhere and make Everton an all-round better side as a result. However, considering the decisions that have been made in the past, it’s hard to envisage a bid for Calvert-Lewin being accepted.
Instead, there’s every chance of the striker having another injury-plagued season at Goodison Park, which offers measly goal return.
One to certainly keep an eye on if an offer does arrive.
