Farhad Moshiri could land £60m Everton parting gift amid MSP Capital Sports investment

Amadou Onana has enjoyed a stellar first season in an Everton shirt after his big-money move from Lille in the summer of 2022.

However, his performances in a blue shirt mean interest has emerged in recent weeks.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein reported on 8 June that Manchester United are interested in the 21-year-old midfielder.

There has also been interest from Chelsea and Arsenal over the past months. However, the Daily Mail report (29 May) that Everton are holding out for £60million for the Belgium international.

That would be a significant sum to add to the coffers. MSP Sports Capital are closing in on an agreement over further investment into the club after reaching an “exclusivity agreement” (BBC Sport, 22 May).

However, to date, news on their investment has gone slightly quiet. With Onana’s future potentially up in the air, Farhad Moshiri could time his exit from Goodison Park nicely – to coincide with a nice fee arriving.

We all know the British-Iranian businessman has spent a lot during his time at Goodison Park, but now is the right to for him to depart.

More importantly, Moshiri must go before any large transfer fees arrive. We all know he’s incapable of making rational and sensible decisions when it comes to the footballing operations.

With Everton’s Premier League status now secure, ensuring new appointments take place in the boardroom is a must. A new direction is required and hopefully, MSP Sports Capital’s initial investment is the start of a new era on Merseyside.
