Jordan Pickford to now jump at chance to quit Everton as £30m exit development emerges

Jordan Pickford “would jump at the chance” to quit Everton to join Manchester United this summer, according to Alan Nixon.

The newspaper journalist reported on his Patreon account on Sunday (11 June) that Man United want to sign Pickford, 29, regardless of whether David De Gea leaves or not.

It is understood that Erik ten Hag wants to have a new goalkeeper on his books at Old Trafford to either rival De Gea or replace him if he doesn’t signed a new contract.

Nixon adds that Everton would consider selling Pickford for around £30million.

No way

Everton are obviously desperate to raise cash.

Farhad Moshiri’s reckless spending over the years has led to the Blues going into yet another transfer window knowing that they cannot spend too much money without having to balance the books.

But Pickford should be seen as an irreplaceable asset in this squad – the only irreplaceable asset.

You can sell on the likes of Anthony Gordon, Amadou Onana or Dominic Calvert-Lewin because we should be able to sign players as good as, if not better, than them.

But with Pickford, there’s no way we’re signing a goalkeeper anywhere near being close to the England number one.

He’s almost single-handedly kept us in the Premier League for the last two seasons thanks to his incredible performances in goals and he’s also been massive for the England national team.

If he goes for £30million, that’s a joke and fresh questions need to be asked about Moshiri and his board for undervaluing the club’s biggest asset.
