Demarai Gray considers Everton exit as Fulham want to sign him, unhappy with Sean Dyche

Demarai Gray is considering leaving Everton after growing unhappy about his starting opportunities under Sean Dyche, according to the Daily Mail.

Gray was a regular starter under Frank Lampard but lost his place in the side under Dyche, with Abdoulaye Doucoure moving into midfield with Alex Iwobi going out wide.

When Gray did start it was usually out of position as a number nine and with Fulham showing an interest in the winger, he is now weighing up his options about leaving Goodison Park.

Everton

“Demarai Gray is considering his future at Everton,” they wrote.

“The winger, who has interest from Fulham, was not entirely happy with his starting opportunities under Sean Dyche towards the end of last season and wants to establish where he stands before making a decision.”

Expected

Everton need attacking reinforcements, not to lose key attacking players, but this was always going to be on the cards.

Gray was our best performing winger for the vast majority of the season until Dyche managed to get a tune out of McNeil and he started scoring important goals, but even out of position Gray turned in top performances to help the team stay in the Premier League.

He is now entering the final 12 months of his contract and the club have a decision to make based on his expectations for a starting role and what Dyche actually has planned for him.

Everton

It may be the last chance to get some cash for him and with the financial situation at Everton as it is, any sort of cash could help towards bolstering the squad in Dyche’s image.

Fans certainly won’t be happy to see him go considering his performances in recent seasons, but with new strikers a priority it may be a necessary evil.
