Farhad Moshiri Everton position untenable as Lawyers circle Goodison Park

We’ve know Farhad Moshiri’s position at Everton has been under threat for a while – and the latest news to emerge has seen his tenure reach an untenable state.

According to the Guardian (12 June), Carlo Ancelotti is suing Everton for general commercial contracts and arrangements.

The details are fairly limited, but, by that, the Real Madrid boss perhaps feels he is due some fairly basic entitlements that were present in his contract at Goodison Park – and that haven’t been fulfilled.

This is basic stuff.

Why on earth have aspects of his contract allegedly not been honoured? It’s scandalous stuff from the board and Moshiri if the court case does go Ancelotti’s way.

Furthermore, even if Everton do avoid a payment to their former boss. Why has this position been reached? With the Premier League charge hanging over the club, it’s certainly a concerning time for Moshiri and the board.

The one positive is the news regarding outside investment – after the latest news, it will take a brave set of investors to get stuck into the Merseyside club.

The best clubs in the country are run professionally from the top down. Look at clubs who are punching above their weight, Aston Villa, Brighton and Brentford. All three have been impeccably run in recent years.

Moshiri either needs to pack his bags or begin to install some sort of professionalism and authority.

The latest court case simply has to be the last one that engulfs Goodison Park for a long, long time.
