Everton could agree deal for FC Cincinnati striker Brandon Vazquez now ahead of January transfer
Everton could be forced to agree a deal now to sign FC Cincinnati striker Brandon Vazquez in January according to a report by The Athletic (13 June).
The Toffees are keen to bolster their attacking options for the 2023/24 season with the futures of Neal Maupay and Ellis Simms up in the air after a tough season in 2022/23.
Everton’s interest in the 24-year-old striker has been reported previously, but having already sold Brenner to Udinese the MLS club don’t want to sell Vazquez as well but could be open to a deal where he leaves at the end of the year instead.

“Cincinnati has no intention to lose Vazquez this summer,” they wrote.
“The club is atop the Supporters’ Shield standings and losing both star strikers in one window is not ideal.
“One way to compromise would be to agree to a deal now that is executed in the winter, though at Vazquez’s age (24) and profile, interested clubs would obviously prefer to have him immediately than wait half a season.”
Reinforcements needed
Everton need strikers to come in immediately and add goals to this team which has managed just 77 goals in the last 76 games in the Premier League.
That has to be the priority for the summer window and Sean Dyche knows that, which means this deal will have to be on the back burner.

We can’t commit funds to a deal that doesn’t immediately help us improve when we have so many issues and have had big trouble in the last few seasons.
If Dyche can get the players in that he needs this summer and then still feels that a deal is worth pursuing for Vazquez then it would be something to look at, as he is clearly talented with 18 goals and eight assists in the last full campaign.
But decisions will need to be made this summer and we can’t afford to wait around realistically, so we’ll have to hope he’s still around in January if a deal needs to be done.
