Simon Jordan takes aim at ‘Clown’ Farhad Moshiri amid Everton boardroom chages, defends Bill Kenwright
Simon Jordan has let rip on Everton owner Farhad Moshiri after changes in the boardroom, but defended chairman Bill Kenwright live on talkSPORT.
Everton announced three people had stepped down from their positions on the board on Monday (12 June), with more clarity on the future of Kenwright’s position to be announced in the coming days.
But while speaking on talkSPORT (13 June) during his show with Jim White, Jordan defended the long-time chairman of the club again despite fans turning against him and took a big swipe at Moshiri in the process.

“Bill Kenwright has done a lot more right for Everton than he’s ever done wrong for it,” he said.
“In everybody’s resumé there will be missteps. In everybody’s resumé there will be opportunities that should have been taken.
“Bill hasn’t got the money that others have got individually so he’s done deals and created opportunities, and yes there will have been missed opportunities, yes there will be accusations that could be levied at Bill’s door that certain people that he brought into the business at certain times, and certain opportunities that he could have taken because he didn’t want to do things in a certain way.
“But on the whole, on the bulk of it, I think Everton have been better off for Bill Kenwright than they could have been with other people there.
“And they’ll blame him for Moshiri coming through the door. But I don’t care about the popularity contest. I think Moshiri is the biggest clown billionaire in football that I’ve ever clapped eyes upon and that’s coming up behind Todd Boehly right now, but Todd Boehly can correct it.

“Look at the state of Everton. Look at the state of it. I’m not trying to gain points with the Evertonians.
“The club’s finished fourth [from bottom] by the skin of their teeth. Fourth from bottom twice in two seasons.
“It’s been sanctioned within an inch of it’s life, it’s under special measures from the Premier League, it can’t control it’s own destiny because it needs to sell players to buy players. It’s now got a query about who’s money is funding it.”
Hero to villain
Kenwright was a hero to many at Everton for a long time because he was a lifelong fan living the dream.
But in recent years he has completely failed to take the club forward in any way and has taken us into a hole by not doing his due diligence when passing on the power.
He’s stood by and allowed Moshiri to dig us into trouble not been able to do anything at all to prevent the situation we now find ourselves in with a lack of cash and big problems with the playing squad.
We’ve managed to stay in the division with big chunks of luck for the most part over the last two seasons and ultimately that is going to run out.
It’s time for him to go and let someone else step into his shoes so he can step back and just be a fan again, so he can really understand the damage that has been caused.
