Amadou Onana could exit Everton as ‘bleak’ Goodison Park scenario emerges
Former Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones believes Amadou Onana could exit Everton during the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mail reported on 11 July that the Toffees are under pressure to sell the 21-year-old midfielder, who starred during the 2022/23 season.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones feels the “bleak” financial situation could see the Belgium international depart.

“It’s going to come down to need for Everton. How badly Everton need to get somebody off the books before 30th June, when you’re into a new accounting period,” he said.
“If their finances are as bleak as some make out, it wouldn’t surprise me if there is a big sale before 30th June. Onana is certainly one of only two or three names you could see generating much money for the club.”
Stability
With potentially three legal cases on the horizon, bleak is probably the right word.
The Premier League charge is yet to be heard. Carlo Ancelotti has sued the club over a contract wrangling and there’s still a chance of the relegated Premier League clubs coming together to sue the Toffees.
It’s hardly the best time to be an Evertonian. Premier League survival and the prospect of a new stadium are probably the only positives to hold onto at present.

The departures of the failed board members is also a small piece of relief to hold onto. With MSP Sports Capital potentially close to fresh investment some smarter minds are required.
Everton have to look to hire some astute football people. Figures who know the ins and outs of a Premier League club and what brings success.
The fan base deserves more. They’ve stood by this failed operation through thick and thin. The time is now right for the blue side of Merseyside to finally have a club they can be proud of.
