Sky Sports journo speculates three senior players Everton ‘need to sell’ to fix ‘tight’ financial situation
Everton could sell Jordan Pickford, Amadou Onana and Demarai Gray this summer in a bid to fix their “tight” financial situation, according to Sky Sports News transfer market editor Lyall Thomas.
It is the sale of midfielder Onana, however, that would provide the Toffees with their “best chance” of solving the issue, Thomas added.
The Daily Mail (June 10) claims that the Merseyside club are now under pressure to sell the Belgium international due to their financial problems.

“Everton’s financial situation remains tight, so they need to sell – and try to sell big – in order to reinvest, in a similar way to that in which they did with Richarlison and Anthony Gordon,” Thomas wrote for Sky Sports.
“I think their best chance of doing that is through Amadou Onana, who is widely considered a top upcoming talent across Europe.
“However, there are other players there that are attracting interest such as Demarai Gray and Jordan Pickford.”

Desperate times
Desperate times really do call for desperate measures, and unfortunately for Everton boss Sean Dyche, it looks certain that he will be forced to let go of at least one of his star assets this summer.
The current ownership has run the club into the ground, with the ongoing FFP investigation and new stadium issues resulting in changes needing to be made on the pitch.
As reluctant as he might be, Dyche must now be put into the uncomfortable situation where he may have to say goodbye to the likes of Pickford, Onana or Gray.
Losing one may be the best outcome for the Toffees manager, but losing all three is a real possibility, and one that will really make things even more difficult than they already are ahead of the new campaign.
The situation would, of course, have been made much worse if Everton suffered relegation to the Championship this season.
