Injury Expert relays possible reasons as Everton part ways with Yerry Mina
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...
The numerous injury concerns could be a major reason why Yerry Mina and Everton decided to go their own separate ways, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert reacted to the news that the Colombian will not be retained by the Toffees and will be leaving once his contract expires at the end of June.
He had multiple lesions which included soft tissue issues as well as an ankle injury that kept him out for a significant amount of time over this past season.

Speaking exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “He’s certainly dealt with multiple injuries, including soft tissue injuries, that kept him out for sustained periods of time so that is a concern.
“Additionally, missed nearly 3 months this season with an ankle injury. However, not sure if his injury history is the major reason behind their parting of ways but it could be even if it isn’t something with a major red flag behind it.
“Might also be a situation where manager Sean Dyche wants to spend resources differently.”

In the 2022/23 season, Mina managed to play just a total of seven Premier League games and contributed unexpectedly in front of the goal as well – finding the back of the net twice.
Frank Lampard appeared to be fond of him but it took the Colombian some time to win over Sean Dyche who did not hand him a game until the final few weeks.
However, it seems like the agreement was always for the club and the defender to go their separate ways come the end of June.
