BBC appear to be lying about Everton fans as embarrassing gaffe emerges in last 3 hours

The BBC appear to be lying about Everton fans as their recent tweet clearly reveals something far from what the Goodison Park faithful would vote for.

Via their Match of the Day Twitter handle, the British broadcaster claimed that they have asked fans to vote for the eleven they would want to see at the club for next season.

Sharing the Everton XI, they put Lucas Digne at left-back – a player who’s not been at the club for a year and a half after his move to Aston Villa in January 2022.

No Toffees fan would ever vote for Digne being the left back as they’ll be aware that he’s no longer at the club.

Had there been any links of him returning to Goodison Park, then this would’ve made sense, but this is a blatant attempt by BBC to just put out whatever comes in their mind and say that fans voted for it.

The Viktor Gyokeres one makes a lot of sense as he’s been linked with a move to Everton and Sean Dyche is looking for a striker.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fitness has made it nigh on impossible to rely on him and the Swedish striker has been prolific in the Championship.

They are battling Newcastle for his services so that’s not going to be an easy thing to do, given the club’s financial situation.

One thing is for certain however, Digne will not be the left-back at Everton for the upcoming season.
