Everton can solve attack woes with move for Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto as transfer news emerges

Everton are in desperate need of reinforcements all over the pitch, but attack is definitely an area that manager Sean Dyche needs to prioritise.

The Toffees struggled in the final third last season as the Merseyside club just about staved off relegation to the Championship.

It’s the second successive season that the club has found itself involved in a fierce relegation battle, meaning things must change if they are to avoid a similar fate next time out.

Far too much pressure has been placed on star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in recent times, with very few players other than the England international capable of producing a creative spark going forward.

But one player that could really help the Toffees in this regard is Leeds United ace Wilfried Gnonto, who is reportedly being targeted by Dyche this summer, according to FootballTransfers.

Noting that talks are ongoing between Everton and Gnonto, FootballTransfers noted: “We have been informed that Everton are pushing for Gnonto, though there needs to be a compromise reached over the price of the Italian.”

The update will be warmly welcomed by supporters of the Merseyside outfit, who quite simply want new faces at Goodison Park this summer in order to get the club back to where they belong.

The club’s financial woes have been well documented in recent times, but they could land Gnonto on a cut-price deal after his Leeds side were relegated to the Championship.

The Whites will need to raise money for incomings of their own, and it is becoming increasingly transparent that Gnonto is one player they could sell for a relatively substantial fee in the grand scheme of things.
