Everton appear set for retro inspiration after Hummel kit teaser
Everton fans have been left excited ahead of the launch of the new home kit after Hummel provided a 1980s throwback, as featured by the Liverpool Echo.
The club’s kit partner revealed Southampton’s new shirt for the upcoming season which is a direct throwback to an old version from four decades ago, inspired by the original, iconic Denmark shirt.
The Toffees’ kit release is said to have been delayed by the wait to find out what league the club would feature in, next term, due to implications for the sponsor logos on the shirt.

Last season’s effort was quite a classic style with the round neck and iconic Hummel chevrons on the shoulders but the Southampton release created a talking point online with the Evertonians thinking of just what kind of nostalgia could be invoked with a similar version of their own.
The Danish brand issued a tweet on Monday with a brief but very bold teaser: “I want you to put the word out there that we back to the 80s”
Clamour
This is very good marketing from Hummel.
The Saints kit is stunning and a similar version, say the 1986 NEC shirt, would be incredibly popular with the Blues fans.
As noted by the Echo, the new kit is said to be ready for release by the end of this month, ahead of another Premier League season and the first full campaign at the helm for Sean Dyche.
It is set to be an intriguing period, with off-field matters still casting a shadow, but the manager will be tasked with buying and selling in order to deliver progress for the Toffees.
Dyche will seriously need to address the balance in the squad as well as add several attacking options, as the dire situation of the season climax last season, cannot be repeated.
All of that, the new kit and more are set to be revealed within a few weeks before the team get the 2023/24 term underway with the visit of Fulham to Goodison Park on 12 August.
