Bill Kenwright Everton exit only ‘matter of time’ as Goodison Park ‘endgame’ emerges

The Daily Star’s Paul Brown believes “it’s just a matter of time” before Farhad Moshiri removes Bill Kenwright from the Everton board.

On Monday 12 June, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, Grant Ingles and Graeme Sharp all left their roles at the club, with Kenwright’s future to be decided in the following 48 hours.

Over nine days have passed and Brown cannot believe that Moshiri hasn’t “simply” removed Kenwright from proceedings.

“Moshiri could alternatively just simply remove him from the board,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT (20 June).

“I struggle really to understand why he hasn’t done that. I think it is just a matter of time now before Kenwright goes, so while it may be frustrating that he is still there, I think we are seeing the end game now for him.”

Shambles

Everton really are a shambles at present.

The fact that Moshiri has missed his own deadline when deciding Kenwright’s future tells you everything you need to know about his incompetence.

Moshiri has to go and quickly. His unprofessional and cavalier approach to running a football club has seen the Toffees flirt with relegation far too often. With the new stadium on the way, there’s absolutely no room for error next season.

Everton

Everton cannot afford to head into the new build as a Championship club. The lack of finances in the second tier coupled with the losses the Toffees post and the impending court cases would make for an unsustainable scenario on the blue side of Merseyside.

Kenwright has also been part of the problem. New football-thinking heads are required in the boardroom.

For too long, it’s been the blind leading the blind at Goodison Park. The sooner that changes, the better for everyone involved.
