Everton transfer news: Arsenal consider Amadou Onana as ‘option’ emerges at The Emirates
Arsenal are considering a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana during the summer transfer window, according to former Bleacher Report journalist, Dean Jones.
The Gunners are looking to improve on their impressive Premier League campaign and are also closing in on a move for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
Jones has suggested that Southampton midfielder Roméo Lavia is also an “option” for the Gunners as well Onana.

“Lavia is on the list. So, I think that they are looking at that as an option. I don’t think they are expecting that they’ll sign him, but they certainly are exploring it,” said Jones (GIVEMESPORT, 20 June).
“I’ve heard they’re also considering Amadou Onana from Everton as well as a potential that they look into.”
Must keep
The Belgium midfielder is a must-keep for the board.
He was arguably the signing of the summer and is easily Everton’s most valuable player at present. He could easily be worth two times what the board paid for him by the time he eventually departs.
Moving forward, this is exactly the type of move the decision-makers at Goodison Park need to be making. For too long Everton have signed players who are well past their best on big contracts.
Younger talents have to be signed with resale value firmly in mind. A third season fighting relegation cannot be contemplated by the board.
It’s good to see change, but if Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri remain at large it’s hard to envisage any major difference to what we’ve seen go before.
Evertonians deserve more than what they’re currently being served up by the incompetent decision-makers at the top of the club.
If Onana departs, it will be yet another dreadful decision to add to a growing list.
