Everton keen to launch bid for £21.5m El Bilal Toure as European bid tabled

Everton are keen to launch a bid for Almería striker El Bilal Toure but face stiff competition from Atalanta, according to 90min.

It’s believed the Serie A side are in talks over a £21.5million move for the 21-year-old Mali international (90min, 22 June).

The striker is set to depart the La Liga club, but, at present Everton are not in a position to match Atalanta’s bid. There is also interest from Napoli.

Get to work

The board desperately need to get to work soon.

The transfer window has been open for nearly two weeks and we are yet to hear of any concrete news emerging from Goodison Park. New additions are desperately required.

For too long, the board have been rash and ill-advised during transfer windows. Now, we need clear thinking and players to be signed with long-term planning in mind.

Look at Amadou Onana.

The 21-year-old has been one of the standout players for Sean Dyche’s side during the 2022/23 season. So much so that he’s been linked with a move away. If he does depart, it would be a blow, but also a testament to the recruitment team for unearthing him last summer.

He was signed for £30million and will likely command a fee of double that if he departs. For one season, that’s nearly £25million made on one player.

More players of Onana’s calibre need to be signed. Bilal Toure would fit the bill. He’s young and could develop if given the right platform and support during his time on Merseyside.
