Everton transfer news: Lens table contract offer to exit-bound Yerry Mina
Lens have offered a contract to former Everton defender Yerry Mina as the Colombian plans for life away from Goodison Park, according to The Daily Mail.
The club confirmed that the 28-year-old defender will depart when his contract concludes at the end of June.
Mina appeared to be on his way to Besiktas, however, Turkish news outlet Fanatik reported (10 June) that the move was on the verge of collapsing due to his excessive wage demands.

The Mail now claim on 26 June that Mina also has an offer on the table from Lens.
Waste
What a waste of money the signing of Mina proved to be.
The 28-year-old signed for £27.2million back in 2018 (Sky Sports). For that kind of money, you would expect a top-quality defender to arrive.
However, injuries, poor form and the chaotic nature of the club saw his time on Merseyside descend into a bit of a nightmare. Everton have thrown away money in recent years and Mina is one of the main reasons.

Moving forward, there has to be a smarter way of working.
Now, the board have to be looking to sign younger players and make a profit in the future. Amadou Onana has been an excellent example. The young Belgian was signed for £30million last summer, but will easily be worth double, potentially more if he is sold this summer.
At 21, it would be a shame to see the midfielder depart during the off-season. If he stays put for one or two more seasons, there’s every chance he would go on to be one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League.
His future is certainly one to keep an eye on, with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly interested.
