Dele Alli training update emerges from Finch Farm as Everton dud returns

Dele Alli was one of the first players to arrive at Finch Farm as Everton began pre-season training on Thursday (6 July), according to the Liverpool Echo.

The midfielder spent last season on loan at Turkish club Besiktas, but his temporary move abroad was cut short by injury.

The former Tottenham and England man is now back at the Merseyside outfit and has made a “positive” start to Everton pre-season training.

“Dele Alli was among the first players to arrive at Finch Farm as Everton began pre-season training on Thursday,” according to the Liverpool Echo. “The 27-year-old has endured a tough time over recent years and his loan at Turkish side Besiktas came to an early end last season through injury.

“The former Tottenham Hotspur star had joined the Super Lig club after he was deemed surplus to requirements by then Blues boss Frank Lampard after failing to take advantage of some summer opportunities last year and cement a place in his first team.

“But Dele now has a new manager to impress and has started in positive fashion – being one of the first to arrive as Everton returned to action.”

Good news

Everton struggler Alli has been constantly surrounded by negative news in recent times, with things reaching boiling point after his failed loan spell in Turkey.

But he is now back in England and seemingly over his injury issues, with the Toffees midfielder keen to hit the ground running ahead of the new campaign.

There has been plenty of talk about his Everton future, but there is still every chance that Alli can fulfil his potential at Goodison Park and go on to become a key player for the club.

Manager Sean Dyche is crying out for talented players, and Alli was one of the most talented players in English football not so long ago.

Everyone knows there is a top player in there somewhere, but now both Alli and his manager must work very hard this summer to bring him out as the club look to avoid a nightmare third successive Premier League relegation battle.

In other Everton news, Joey Barton has sent a three-word message as a Toffees exit is confirmed after a contract snub.
