Bruno Fernandes sends three-word message to Everton ace James Garner

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has sent a three-word message to Everton and England Under-21 ace James Garner.

The social media message comes after the latter played a key role as the Young Lions won the Under-21 European Championship.

Garner played the entire 90 minutes as Lee Carsley’s side defeated Spain Under-21s 1-0 on Saturday (8 July) to lift the trophy.

Posting images of himself with the trophy on Instagram after the win, Garner wrote: “Champions of Europe.”

And his former Manchester United teammate Fernandes commented: “Well deserved kid.”

Superb achievement

It was a superb achievement from the young England side, who managed to go through the entire tournament without conceding a single goal.

And Everton ace Garner was crucial to that stunning run, with the 22-year-old playing out of position at right-back for the majority of the competition, as well as operating in his usual central midfield spot.

Words of support have been pouring in for the Toffees youngster, with his former colleague Fernandes among the players to send a message of congratulations.

Many Red Devils fans were surprised when their club let the academy product leave for Goodison Park last summer, with such fans having seen a bright future for Garner at Old Trafford.

But the young ace is now very much an Everton senior player and is expected to be a key part of Sean Dyche’s plans for the new season, perhaps both in midfield and in defence.

In other Everton news, one Premier League manager wants a phone call with Toffees outcast Dele Alli after a “spectacular” development.
