Everton have ‘concrete interest’ in Harry Maguire as £35m transfer news emerges
Everton are reported to have concrete interest in Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, as his club ask for at least £35million for his signature, according to Caught Offside.
It is reported that Everton will continue the defender’s situation at Manchester United until later in the transfer window, as his large price tag is viewed as too high, but could drop if his club want to sell him this summer.
Maguire is reportedly set for talks with his manager Erik ten Hag soon, as they look to come to an understanding over his future at the club, and whether or not he will be sold. Ten Hag supposedly wants to trim his squad down, with Maguire on the list of expendable players.

Maguire could certainly do a job at Everton
Despite recent public opinion of Maguire dropping to an all-time low, he is still a very good player who could do a fantastic job in the Premier League with Everton. He remains an England international, with 57 caps to his name – Manchester United just isn’t the club for him.
His continued selection for the England national team is not simply a sign of favouritism by the manager as has been suggested, but one of a top-level footballer with vast experience and talent.

Maguire’s confidence with the ball at his feet, bringing the ball out of defence and playing into midfield, as well as his dominant aerial presence and goalscoring ability would make him a valuable asset for Everton as the club look to steer themselves clear of another relegation battle.
Playing under Sean Dyche would see Maguire sit deeper than he does with his current side, in more of a low-block system than a high pressing one, which hugely suits his game and could bring the best out of him as we have seen under Gareth Southgate with England.
