Jamie Vardy on Everton shortlist as Leicester City make transfer decision
Everton have placed Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy on their shortlist for a new striker this summer, according to FootballTransfers.
The publication noted that the Foxes legend has been told that he is now free to leave his current club, a year before his contract expires.
Leicester hero Vardy, who helped fire the club to the 2015/16 league title, boasts 136 goals and 49 assists from his 307 appearances in the Premier League.

“FootballTransfers has learned that there are three names on Everton’s attacking shortlist. The first two are natural number nines in the form of Moussa Dembele and Jamie Vardy.
“Dembele is available on a free transfer after his Lyon contract expired. Vardy, meanwhile, has been told he can leave Leicester a year before his contract expires in 2024.”

Fantastic option
Everton have struggled essentially all over the pitch in recent seasons, with no one area at fault in the club’s two successive Premier League relegation battles over the past two seasons.
But one area that can definitely be pinpointed is in the final third, where the injury struggles of number one striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin have caused major problems for the Toffees.
Keeping things tight at the back is vital to enjoying a successful Premier League campaign, but scoring goals is obviously a massively important issue, and that is something that the Merseyside club have struggled with in recent years.
Leicester ace Vardy has also had his issues in recent times, but there is no doubting his ability, with the Foxes star spending a lot of time watching on from the sidelines last season.
His confidence will have been at an all-time low last time out, but there is every chance that he could find his feet once again at Goodison Park next season.
