Everton offer Mason Holgate to Besiktas on free loan as Sean Dyche makes transfer decision
Everton have offered Mason Holgate to Besiktas on a free season-long loan deal after Sean Dyche decided he isn’t in his plans for the new season, according to Fotomac.
The 26-year-old defender is free to leave Goodison Park this summer on either a permanent or loan transfer, with Southampton and Sheffield United linked with a move.
But a fresh report in Turkey now claims that the club are working to move the player out of the club themselves, using their good relationship with Besiktas to try and find Holgate a new home for the 2023/24 season.

“Continuing its new pre-season work, Beşiktaş received a surprise transfer proposal,” they wrote (13 July).
“Mason Holgate, who was not included in the camp squad by the coach Sean Dyche, was recommended to Kartal by the Everton club.
“The English club, which started with the transfer of Cenk and wanted to use the cooperation that developed with the transfer of Dele Alli last season, offered the 26-year-old defender born in Jamaica.
“In case Holgate accepts the transfer, Beşiktaş will not pay the rental fee or the testimonial fee.”
Yikes
It now seems as though the writing is on the wall for the future of Mason Holgate at Everton, and it’s not looking good for him at all.
The player was left out of the training camp in Switzerland earlier this week due to injury, but there were several people who speculated that it could be because of a potential exit being close.

The report doesn’t state whether Besiktas were willing to take him on loan, so it’s certainly a transfer situation to keep an eye on going forward.
But Dyche has made it abundantly clear now that Holgate doesn’t really have a future at Goodison Park anymore and with a contract that is due to expire in 2025 this is the best chance we’ll have of getting a fee for him.
We need to raise funds to help bolster our own budget, and ruthless decisions need to be made. This is one of them, and clearly it has been.
In other Everton news, the club are ready to hold talks with another forward as £10m price tag emerged.
