Patrice Evra sends two-word message to Ashley Young after Everton done deal
Manchester United legend Patrice Evra has sent Ashley Young a two-word message after the latter joined Premier League club Everton.
As noted by the official Toffees website (13 July), Young has joined the Merseyside club on a one-year deal until the end of June 2024.
The former Manchester United and Watford man was a free agent having left Aston Villa earlier this summer upon the expiry of his contract.

“So the worst kept secret is out… thanks to everyone at Everton for the very warm welcome, really excited and can’t wait to get started!” Young wrote on Instagram.
Former Manchester United full-back Evra, who played with Young at the Red Devils, then commented: “My soldier.”

Great experience
There were seemingly a few clubs interested in veteran Young in recent weeks upon his Aston Villa exit, but it is Sean Dyche’s Everton who have won the race for his signature.
The 38-year-old will not be expected to play every match next season, but he can play a key role on the pitch when handed minutes by Dyche, either from the start or off the bench.
His vast Premier League experience will also help off the pitch, with many Toffees players – young and old – able to look up to the former England international for advice.
Young is clearly well-respected within the game, with the versatile player earning well-wishes from many people following his move to Merseyside.
There are certainly not many current Everton players that boast an honours list quite like Young’s, with the ace winning the Premier League, Serie A, Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup.
In other Everton news, Simon Jordan has shared a Farhad Moshiri “appetite” verdict amid a Toffees stadium claim.
