Everton make approach to sign striker Victor Boniface after 22-goal season
Everton have made an approach to sign Union Saint-Gilloise (USG) striker Victor Boniface, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri.
The journalist reported via his personal Twitter account on Saturday (15 July) that while there is no offer on the table, the player is open to a move.
The 22-year-old scored 22 goals and registered 12 assists in all competitions last season in matches for USG and his former club Bodo/Glimt, having moved from the latter in August.

“We are not yet at the stage of formal negotiations but I understand Everton took initial information on player’s side to glimpse the possibilities of a deal for Victor Boniface,” Tavolieri wrote on Twitter.
“There is actually absolutely NO offer for the Nigerian striker on the table of USG even though the player’s open to a move. Interesting transfer to follow this summer.”
Interesting option
It is no secret just how much Everton are in need of attacking reinforcements this summer, with the Toffees really struggling in the final third since losing Brazilian ace Richarlison to Tottenham.
From that moment on, the Merseyside outfit have not been ruthless going forward, with the constant injuries to star striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin one of the major reasons behind their struggles.
His deputy Neal Maupay has failed to have any impact at all at Goodison Park since joining from Everton, while young striker Ellis Simms has recently departed for Championship club Coventry City.
Fellow youngster Tom Cannon could be handed minutes this season under manager Sean Dyche, but Everton need a proven goalscorer up there if they are to have any hope of surviving in the Premier League next season.
And USG man Boniface certainly represents an interesting option, with the 22-year-old enjoying a superb campaign last time out.
