Everton table offer to sign Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga as financial details emerge
Everton tabled an offer for Manchester United attacker Anthony Elanga that included “not a lot of money up front”, according to Graeme Bailey.
Speaking on the Talking Transfers podcast (18 July) 90min journalist Bailey confirmed that the Toffees had tabled an offer for the Sweden international earlier in the transfer window.
But while it was a permanent bid, the terms made it more like a loan deal and the player is said to not be convinced of a move to Goodison Park at this stage.

“He’s been told he can go, he’s assessing his options,” he said.
“Everton came in with an offer, we understand it was a permanent bid but not a lot of money up front. Almost like a loan deal. We’re not sure how keen he is there, he might go abroad.”
Typical
Everton fans were rightly quite excited about a potential move for Elanga this summer, but it doesn’t seem likely anymore.
The club were linked with a move in January too but the plug got pulled on it and Everton retained their interest coming into this window.
But while Manchester United reportedly halved their asking price for Elanga, Everton’s offer sounds paltry and is unlikely to convince either the club or player that they’re serious about trying to sign him.

We need reinforcements before the season starts and currently the squad is weaker than it was when we avoided relegation on the final day of the season. But financially we’re in a hole and Sean Dyche’s hands are tied on what he can and can’t do.
Elanga is likely to have several options this summer and unless we pull out all the stops to convince him that this is the place to be and he’s really wanted, it seems unlikely that he’ll be in blue this season.
