Everton ace Demarai Gray makes ‘difficult’ admission amid exit talk
Everton forward Demarai Gray has commented on speculation surrounding his future, as reported by Football Daily.
In a video posted to football daily’s Twitter on Thursday(20 July), the Premier League winner spoke about the coming season and how he is “focused” on Everton, while touching upon some of his long-term goals as transfer speculation continues.
The Daily Mail reported on Monday (17 July) that Crystal Palace are interested in the 27-year-old Jamaica international.
“There’s always going to be talk in the transfer window,” Gray said.
“I’m an Everton player – the last two seasons have been difficult, obviously I have got a little bit more time off now, but I look forward to getting back and, as a club, we’re trying to make sure we’re not in the situations we’ve been in the last two years and my mind is fully focussed on doing that and contributing to the team as well as I can.
“I am just focused on having a good season next year – obviously it is a dream for me and any player to play Champions League football and play at the top level. I am very confident in my ability and believe I can reach top heights still.”

Gray’s words do not sound like those of a player who is desperate to leave his club. He was one of the Toffees’ key players last season and started 27 games in the Premier League, scoring on four occasions, as well as netting twice in as many EFL Cup appearances.
Only two players scored more goals than him in the league with speculation now growing over where he will play his football next season.

Holding on to the former Leicester man would be beneficial for Sean Dyche who is hardly blessed with attacking talent going forward at the club right now. Everton finished as the league’s second-lowest goalscorers and will need all the depth they can get at the top end of the pitch next season.
Gray is certainly a talented player who can provide moments of magic and, for now, it doesn’t seem like he will force any move anytime soon, although talk of the Champions League suggests this could change in the future.
In other Everton news, another winger could be set to join the club this summer.
