Iliman Ndiaye set for £35m clause as Everton transfer news emerges

Everton target Iliman Ndiaye is set to have a price clause inserted into his Sheffield United contract, according to newspaper journalist Alan Nixon.

Reporting on his Patreon on Sunday (23 July), Nixon noted that the Blades want to inset a £35million price tag into the contract.

The 23-year-old, who joined Sheffield United in 2019, registered 15 goals and 12 assists in all competitions last season.

“Iliman Ndiaye will sign a new deal at Sheffield United – if there is a reasonable ‘price clause’ in the contract,” Nixon wrote on his Patreon.

“Senegalese striker Ndiaye is prepared to stay with the Blades and extend his time at Bramall Lane despite interest from Marseille and Everton.

“However there has to be an agreement on the price he will cost if he moves on at the end of the campaign. Blades want a £35million price tag in the new contract which would be lower if they are relegated.”

Ndiaye proved his credentials with a superb season last time out, with the striker definitely able to help solve Everton’s attacking issues.

But whether or not they could afford him is another matter as the Merseyside club continue to struggle with finances.

The £35million price tag is certain to scare off many clubs, with the Toffees seemingly not having such funds to throw at new players at this moment in time.

With his contract expiring next summer, Everton will no doubt keep tabs on the player, who will perhaps be annoyed at potentially missing out on a dream move elsewhere due to the high fee.

For now, however, he is a Sheffield United player, and all of his focus should be on hitting the ground running in the Premier League with the Blades.

They take on Crystal Palace in their league opener on 12 August, in what is certain to be a superb atmosphere at Bramall Lane.

In other Everton news, the documents are done as the Toffees complete a “crazy” transfer, as per Fabrizio Romano.
