Alan Myers shares ‘hopeful’ Everton transfer update on Almeria striker El Bilal Toure
Everton are “still hopeful” they can sign Almeria striker El Bilal Toure, despite the player being close to joining Atalanta, according to Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers.
Reporting via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday (25 July), Myers noted that there has been no decision from the player at this moment in time.
According to Sky Sports, the Merseyside outfit have agreed a deal with Almeria for the 21-year-old Mali international.
“As per Fabrizio Romano Atalanta want a deal done today, and are pushing very hard, but there is no decision at this point, and Everton are still hopeful they can sign him, let’s see,” Myers wrote on Twitter.
Replying to the post, Romano wrote: “Thanks Alan! Let’s see what happens today,” with Myers responding: “Flip a coin!”

Transfer rollercoaster
It really is uncertain where exactly Toure will be playing his football at the beginning of the season, but it seems that his current club Almeria can at least be taken out of the equation.
It, therefore, looks like a straight battle between Everton and Serie A side Atalanta, with both clubs seemingly in the markt for a striker this summer.
The latter could lose young talent Rasmus Hojlund in the coming weeks, with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United potentially on the cards.
Everton meanwhile have already brought forward Arnaut Danjuma to Goodison Park, with the attacker arriving on loan from Villarreal.
He can play in a centre-forward role, but can also operate on the wing, meaning Sean Dyche may still want someone else to lead the line next season.
The Toffees do, of course, have Dominic Calvert-Lewin for that role, but his ongoing injury issues make it hard for Dyche to trust the player.
In other Everton news, there has been a contract twist as a £35million price has now been set for a striker the Toffees want to sign.
