Everton want to sign Yuri Alberto from Corinthians, player ready to move as high fee mooted
Everton are in talks with Corinthians about signing forward Yuri Alberto with the player ready to leave Brazil, according to Dominik Schneider.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (28 July), the Football Transfers journalist reports that the club and player are in ongoing talks, although there have been no concrete approaches so far.
The player is said to be open to a move away from the Brazilian club, and the 22-year-old is expected to cost a “high transfer fee” should the right opportunity arise for him.
“Future of Yuri Alberto of Corinthians remains open,” he wrote.
“Numerous clubs from Europe show interest. Talks with Everton FC are ongoing. Nothing concrete so far.
“He feels ready for move, waiting for perfect option. Contract until 2027, high transfer fee expected.”
Wildcard
There are obviously a lot of talks going on with different strikers and different attacking options at Everton right now, and this is another one of those.
Alberto however would certainly be a bit of a wildcard option having never player in Europe before, nevermind the Premier League, and that would be a big step up for him.

A “high transfer fee” also makes this deal worrying, because Everton don’t have a lot of money available right now and we can’t afford to gamble our budget away just for the sake of any signing.
With that said Barcelona have previously been interested in signing him which tells you how talented he is, and if he could come in and hit the ground running alongside another forward that would be perfect.
It’s an ongoing situation and Everton have got their hand in a lot of pies right now, so it will be interesting to see who they end up with in the squad come next month.
