Everton have ‘mild interest’ in Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho – BBC Sport

Everton have “mild interest” in signing Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho this summer, according to BBC Sport.

The publication reported on its website on Sunday (29 July) that the Toffees have not made an approach for the Nigeria international.

The 26-year-old scored eight goals in all competitions last season as the Foxes were relegated to the Championship.

Top talent

Last season was disappointing for Iheanacho in many ways, with the striker only finding the back of the net eight times.

Five of those goals came in the Premier League, with the other three coming from his three FA Cup matches.

He also chipped in with five assists in the league, but it was not enough as the Foxes were relegated from the top flight in disappointing fashion.

Iheanacho has, however, shown over the years that he is more than capable at finding the back of the net.

At 26, he has a long way to go in his career, and the Nigerian could really come alive with a fresh start at Goodison Park.

Everton boss Sean Dyche will want the injury-prone Dominic Calvert-Lewin to be fit and firing next season, but given that such a situation looks unlikely, a new striker is needed at the club.

Iheanacho is a top talent, and the Toffees could do a lot worse than having the former Manchester City man leading their line.
