Everton response update shared as Youssef Chermiti turns down transfer proposal

Everton are certain to raise the proposal to Sporting CP striker Youssef Chermiti after he turned down the first one, according to O Jogo.

The Portuguese newspaper report in its print edition on 2 August (Page 11) that there’s already an agreement in principle reached between the clubs.

It’s understood that £12.9million will be the transfer fee with another £4.3million in add-ons attained based on the number of goals scored.

Get it done

For Everton to reach a fee agreement for a new signing this summer is a big deal as money is tight at Goodison Park.

After signing Arnaut Danjuma and Ashley Young, it’s time they bring in a new striker and after failing to sign El Bilal Toure, they’re looking at alternatives.

Chermiti hasn’t ruled out moving to Goodison Park but it seems like the opening offer was not to his expectations.

Hopefully, the one that will be made shortly is more to his satisfaction as there are talks of a medical being done over the weekend.

The Toffees need to secure this deal as soon as possible or there is a chance of it being hijacked like Bilal Toure was.

This will surely see Sean Dyche fuming so they need to get it done in the next day or two before anxiety will creep in once again at Goodison Park.

In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian striker to lead their line for next season.
