Championship manager reveals transfer desire amid interest in Everton striker Tom Cannon
Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe says it is “no secret” that he wants to sign a new striker amid interest in Everton striker Tom Cannon.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Championship club are interested in bringing the forward to Deepdale following his loan spell there last season.
The 20-year-old played for the club in the second half of last season, scoring eight goals from his 21 appearances in all competitions.

“Preston North End manager Ryan Lowe says he needs another striker amid interest in Everton talent Tom Cannon,” according to the Liverpool Echo.
As quoted by the newspaper, Lowe said: “There’s no secret, we need another striker and a left-sided player. We’re not going to rush with anything; for now we’ll go with what we’ve got.”

Firm favourite
It’s clear that Preston want a striker, and also quite clear that they admire Everton youngster Cannon, who made quite the impression at the Championship club last season.
Preston will want to hit the ground running immediately in the new season, with the club kicking their Championship campaign off away to Bristol City on Saturday (5 August).
It is then quickly onto cup action as they meet Salford City in the EFL Cup first round on Tuesday (8 August). But they may have to get on with things without Cannon, who for now is very much an Everton player.
That could, of course, all change in the coming days, but his Toffees future looks certain to depend on new arrivals at Sean Dyche’s side.
The club have already strengthened in the final third with a loan move for Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma, with Youssef Chermiti expected to arrive from Sporting Lisbon in the very near future.
In other Everton news, the Merseyside outfit are set for a financial windfall as “seven figure” news emerges.
