Alan Myers makes Hugo Ekitike transfer prediction after new Everton bid
Everton have “100%” made an offer for PSG striker Hugo Ekitike, although there are doubts over the move with many options available, according to journalist Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist shared via his Twitter account on 10 August that he thinks the deal “probably” won’t happen, despite a bid being made by the Toffees.
It was also suggested that other reports may be playing the deal down due to the interest from elsewhere – with those sharing that RC Lens and Borussia Dortmund, among a few other clubs, are also looking at Ekitike.
Trying not to get their hopes up
Everton won’t be getting their hopes up over a deal for Ekitike due to the level of competition they are facing from the aforementioned clubs both involved in Champions League football, but news that an offer has been made suggests the club believe they can get the deal done.
This would be an exciting move for the Toffees, with Ekitike a very highly rated prospect in France after he secured a move to Paris just one year ago in a deal worth £24.5m.
The fact that PSG are willing to let him go is not so much of an assessment of his ability, but more of where the club is heading and the squad overhaul they are looking to carry out. New boss Luis Enrique is reportedly a fan of his, but it is PSG’s choice to move him on.

Everton have been looking to reinforce their squad in the forward department this summer after they struggled for goals last season, and want to bring Ekitike in alongside Sporting striker Youssef Chermiti who should sign in the coming days.
The French forward would provide more of an experienced option, although he is only 21, with five years of senior football under his belt, including a title-winning campaign.
In other Everton news, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed a medical is underway for a new signing.
