Positive signs

Everton desperately needed to strengthen following their disappointing Premier League campaign last time out, with the final third one area that required bolstering in particular.

The Toffees have already addressed that issue somewhat, with Arnaut Danjuma arriving on loan from Villarreal, while a deal has been completed for Sporting Lison striker Youssef Chermiti, according to Fabrizio Romano (10 August).

Everton fans won’t, however, say no to more attackers arriving, and they certainly won’t say no to a deal for PSG ace Ekitike.

The 21-year-old only joined the French giants on a permanent deal from Reims earlier this summer, having initially joined on loan in July 2022.

But given the star-studded squad in the French capital, the youngster hasn’t always been the first name on the team sheet, which is very understandable at this early stage of his career.

A loan move would definitely suit him in order to progress, and he could undoubtedly become the main man at Goodison Park.

In other Everton news, Toffees coaching staff have been blown away by one fringe player at Finch Farm.
