Everton transfer news as PSG striker Hugo Ekitike snubs Borussia Dortmund move

Everton appear to have been handed a significant transfer boost in their pursuit of PSG striker Hugo Ekitike amid Borussia Dortmund links.

According to German media outlet Waz (11 August), the Frenchman refused to join the German side and even they are unwilling to spend big money on a striker.

The Toffees, per  Foot 01 on 10 August, had made a bid for the 21-year-old and it was accepted by the Ligue 1 champions as well.

This is most certainly a boost for the Toffees as they’ve already shown the money PSG want and it’s now down to the striker.

It seems Dortmund do not have the funds or do not want to spend them on Ekitike and his wages and this is an ideal scenario for Everton.

They’ve already got Youssef Chermiti over the line and Ekitike could be signing number 4 and undoubtedly an upgrade on the Portuguese.

Chermiti could also learn a few things from Ekitike and could prove to be a more than capable understudy for the Frenchman.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is extremely unreliable with his form and fitness and it does not make sense to bank on him for next season and there’s a chance that he could be the third-choice striker under Sean Dyche if Ekitike joins.

In exclusive Everton news, the Toffees now have to pay £21.4m to land a Brazilian player ahead of next season.
