Ashley Young slammed in ‘diabolical’ moment v Aston Villa as ‘disgraceful’ Everton verdict shared
Everton defender Ashley Young has been slammed for his “diabolical” throw-in which led to a goal for Aston Villa in their Premier League clash.
Unai Emery’s men defeated Sean Dyche’s side 4-0 at Villa Park on Sunday (20 August), with Young accidentally providing the final goal for his former side.
The full-back threw the ball straight to Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran in the 75th minute, with the striker capitalising and putting the ball beyond Jordan Pickford.

“The throw-in from Ashley Young is diabolical!” Andy Hinchcliffe said live on Sky Sports Main Event (20 August, 3.40pm).
“Michael Keane wasn’t ready for it…it’s just appalling, it’s disgraceful defending.”

Shambolic
It was a disastrous afternoon from start to finish for Everton, who now have two losses from their first two matches of the season.
The Toffees showed plenty of promise in their opening game against Fulham last Saturday (12 August), but their creativity failed to produce any success as the visitors won 1-0 at Goodison Park.
Dyche’s side had the opportunity to put things right at Villa Park, but were simply shambolic from the very first whistle as the home side ran riot.
Emery’s outfit really were in scintillating form, but their opponents made it easy for them at times, with Everton often their own victims on the day.
That will not best please Dyche, who will need his players to cut out the mistakes if they are to have any form of success over the coming months.
Young meanwhile will be disappointed with himself, with his experience falling through in that crazy moment in the latter stages of the match.
In other Everton news, Michael Keane has sent a two-word message as a player announces his retirement from football.
