Johan Bakayoko shows Everton what they are missing in Champions League clash
PSV winger Johan Bakayoko showed Everton exactly what they are missing as he registered two assists in the Champions League qualifying draw with Rangers on 22 August.
The 20-year-old caused Rangers problems all night with his direct attacking style, as he completed four of five attempted dribbles, attempting four shots on goal, and won seven of his 11 duels, tormenting the back line [Sofascore].
Everton were linked with a move for Bakayoko by Sacha Tavolieri on 16 August, as the Toffees were reportedly set to make an official approach to PSV to secure his services, and more recently, Football Transfers shared the winger is among their options [23 August].

A compilation of the winger’s performance was shared on Twitter as fans gushed over his performance, proving once again why he has been linked with big moves this summer.
Everton reportedly face competition from the likes of Liverpool, French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Italian champions Napoli in their pursuit of the winger, with this display unlikely to have done them any favours as big clubs circle.
His first assist came from a ball cut back into the box from the byline, while the second showed another asset to his game as a fantastic corner delivery was turned into the net.
One highlight in particular came as the winger faced up Rangers’ left-back Borna Barisic, waiting for him to commit before flicking the ball past him, earning the defender a yellow card.
Everton lack anybody with that kind of expressive burst of pace and skill in their squad, particularly on the wing where they are short for numbers and forced to use two central players in Alex Iwobi and James Garner on the flanks.
BBC pundit Clinton Morrison was left frustrated by Iwobi in particular against Aston Villa, with his lack of 1v1 ability and ultimate poor crossing the sort of thing Bakayoko would offer to the club in his place.
The Toffees have been looking to secure more signings before the transfer window closes on 1 September, with a new winger one of their priorities due to the lack of depth.
In other Everton news, one Champions League club have made a fresh approach for a player.
