Brentford favoured by Hugo Ekitike as Everton face fresh competition for PSG star – Sky Sports news

Everton target Hugo Ekitike is interested in a switch to Premier League rivals Brentford, according to Sky Sports News.

As reported by the broadcaster in their online transfer blog (25 August, 12:32 pm), PSG are offering the 21-year-old striker to various clubs across Europe as they look to balance the books in order to meet FFP regulations.

West Ham, Everton and Fulham have all been linked with the player. However, the French champions prefer a sale to Brentford, as they see the Bees as the perfect destination for Ekitike to develop, increasing his resale value and therefore the value of the sell-on clause which the club want to be included in any deal.

Ekitike is also interested in a move to West London, although Brentford are currently prioritising other targets ahead of the window closing with Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez and Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest among their wishlist.

Opportunity

It seems as if the Toffees have the opportunity to land Ekitike if they do something that they don’t usually do, act fast in the transfer market. While the Sky Sports update suggests that Ekitike is interested in Brentford, it also states that PSG need to sell and the Bees are currently looking at other options, which means the player might not get much choice.

If a club can act fast and meet the Parisian club’s demands, the striker could be there for the taking. Therefore, this is exactly what Sean Dyche’s side should be looking to do. They are without a goal in their opening two Premier League games this season as their goalscoring troubles from the previous campaign have continued into this one.

With not long left in the transfer window they will need to make a decision quickly as they have limited time to assess other options.

Ekitike is there, go and get him.

In other Everton news, the club are confident of completing a deal for another striker despite troubles with MSP.
