Everton to complete Beto signing within coming hours amid ‘unknown’ detail
Everton will complete the signing of Udinese forward Beto “in the next few hours”, according to Record.
The Portuguese publication reported in its print edition on Sunday [27 August, pg 25] that Beto is on Merseyside ready to sign the contract.
However, the length of the deal Beto is signing is unknown.

“Beto will become an Everton player in the next few hours,” the report read.
“The Udinese forward has been in England since last night, having scheduled today for the medical tests that precede the signing of the contract.
“If everything goes normally, the 25-year-old Portuguese will sign the contract today or tomorrow.
“It is unknown, for now, how many seasons the Portuguese striker will remain connected to the Liverpool club.
“It is known, however, that Everton will pay more than 30 million Euros for him… but less than the 35 million included in his termination clause.”
Another signing needed
Everton are in desperate need of at least one new attacker after firing blanks in their opening three Premier League matches.
Following Saturday’s [26 August] 1-0 loss to Wolves, the Toffees have lost their opening three league games without scoring for the first time ever.
It remains to be seen if Beto alone will help transform their campaign, but it is at least a start for Sean Dyche’s men.
Beto may need time to adapt, but he did exactly that when joining Udinese from Portimonense in 2021.
The Portuguese attacker has hit double figures for goals in his two Serie A campaigns, netting 21 times in 61 appearances overall.

That is not the most eye-catching of returns, granted, but Beto does at least know how to find the net.
Boasting 0.42 goals every 90 minutes in the Italian top flight last season [FBref], that is the type of return that could go a long way to helping the Toffees.
Realistically, though, another player needs to be signed in the attacking third ahead of the 11pm deadline on 1 September.
In other Everton news, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on another of the Toffees’ long-term targets.
