New board to push button on Demarai Gray signing from Everton with deal all but done – Fabrizio Romano

The new board of Al Shabab is set to decide on whether or not to sign Everton forward Demarai Gray, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist tweeted on 29 August that a deal was almost done between the Toffees and the Saudi club before the shake-up in management put the Jamaican international’s move in doubt.

But he said the board is now set to make a decision after the same terms that were initially agreed upon remain in place between the two sides and the 27-year-old.

This latest development will have left a bit of uneasiness for Gray as he is currently in limbo as to whether the deal will be completed or not.

There is no doubt that Everton will be hoping the situation can be quickly concluded after it’s been made pretty clear this summer that he is free to leave the club.

The forward saw his importance to the team drop off last season following Sean Dyche’s arrival at Goodison Park before being completely frozen out this campaign, having yet to be included in a single match day squad.

It’s so far unclear what the terms of the agreement are with Al Shabab, but the Blues were previously looking for a fee in the region of £12million to allow him to leave Merseyside.

It’s now just a waiting game for the Toffees and Gray to see whether a deal will be completed or not as the two parties are likely keen to part ways as swiftly as possible.
