Everton have offer on the table for Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga
Everton have got an offer on the table for Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga to sign before Friday’s deadline, according to Calciomercato.
Writing on their official website (30 August), the Italian news outlet report that the young defender is set to leave the north London club and has made a move to Serie A his priority.
That’s despite having offers on the table from Everton, Luton and Lyon, and the Toffees will have to convince him if they want to get a deal done before the transfer window slams shut on Friday night.

“Torino is aiming straight for Tanganga for the possible replacement of Buongiorno, for whom they are in advanced negotiations with Atalanta,” they wrote. “Also included in the deal are the cards of Zapata and Soppy.
“On Inter’s radar as ‘Plan C’ to Pavard , the English defender has put Serie A at the top of his preferences despite having offers from Luton, Everton and Lyon on the table.”
Depth
Defence has been an issue this season as much as the attack has with no goals scored but six conceded in just three games.
Seamus Coleman is still out injured, Vitalii Mykolenko isn’t quite ready to go yet and in the middle we have got Michael Keane struggling and Jarrad Branthwaite adapting to life in the Premier League alongside James Tarkowski.

Tanganga isn’t a household name and isn’t a game-changing signing immediately, but he provides depth across the back-four and stylistically is the strong, tough-tackling type that Sean Dyche loves.
If we can convince him to come in before the deadline that quality and depth could be a big difference as we prepare for what looks set to be yet another relegation battle.
It won’t be easy to do and doesn’t seem to be a priority option ahead of the deadline, but it would certainly be a good deal to do that fans should be excited for if it picks up some speed between now and Friday.
