Everton must move quickly for Chelsea ace Trevoh Chalobah as £28m Bayern Munich transfer news emerges
Everton manager Sean Dyche has made his feelings clear about which area of the pitch his side need to improve upon.
The Toffees boss has signed five players this summer, four of which are attackers; Arnaut Danjuma, Youssef Chermiti, Jack Harrison and Beto.
The fifth signing is Ashley Young, who has previously played in an attacking role but is now very much a defensive player.

It’s clear to see why the Merseyside outfit wanted to bring in such players, with the Toffees yet to find the back of the net from their first three matches of the new season.
However, they haven’t exactly been very special at the back either, with Everton conceding six goals from their opening three games.
That could lead Dyche to now focus on that aspect of his squad, with the Toffees reportedly considering Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah as one player to help solve the problem [TEAMtalk, 5 August].

He would certainly be a welcome addition at Goodison Park, but it is a move that is becoming increasingly unlikely given interest in the player from German giants Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Sports (29 August), the Bundesliga side have already opened talks with Chelsea about a move for the 24-year-old.
The publication noted that Bayern view the Blues ace as a replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who is closing in on a £28million move to Serie A giants Inter Milan. In a further blow to the Toffees, Sky Sports added that Chalobah is open to the switch to Germany this summer.

One glimmer of hope does, however, remain for the Merseyside club, with Sky Sports (29 August) reporting that Bayern are also considering a move for Tottenham Hotspur man Eric Dier.
The German outfit would then surely be unlikely to make a move for Chelsea’s Chalobah before the transfer window closes.
In other Everton news, an advanced Toffees player sale has collapsed with just days left until the transfer window deadline.
